Met. Police scores a big win over Monken Hadley.

MPBCC 3rd XI played their last Home game against Monken Hadley 2nd XI. For a change Captain Dave Halsey lost the toss and was put to field by the opposition captain Smith.

Met. Police boys took to fields with lot of energy and vigour. Louis Gino Cummins bowled an aggressive spell of fast bowling with Dave Halsey. Monken Hadley captain Smith camped at one end, and played a very patient inning, on the other end wickets kept on falling at regular intervals, but captain Smith (54*) remained not out throughout the innings. With a little help from Willims (18) & Norris (15) in the middle order visiting team scored 107 for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 47 overs. Met. bowlers Verma took three wickets, Louis & Elliot took two each, and Halsey chipped in with one. Ramdan boy Hammy bowled a very tight line alongwith Burrows.

Without making too much of a fuss about the target Met. Police batsmen went about chasing down the target in a very determined manner. Ramdan boy Sid (26) and Craig (35) opened the innings and started playing shots from the outset. MPBCC reached the target 108 in 25 overs at the loss of two wickets and registered another important win. With one match to go MPBCC is sitting pretty comfortably, out of the relegation zone and hoping to make the best out of the last match of the season against Cockfosters.
