MPBCC 1st XI played their third game of the season against Northchurch 2nd XI at the home ground and continued with their brilliant run in the league. MPBCC 1st XI captain Gareth Thomason won the toss and put Northchurch in to bat. Dan Nightingale lead the bowling attack with Peck and bowled a very steady line. Northchurch batsmen could never build up a steady partnership and kept loosing wickets at regular intervals. Northchurch captain Pieter Swart (50*) and Adam Hayes(36) being the only exceptions, offered some resistance. By virtue of a steady disciplined bowling display of MPBCC bowlers Northchurch managed to put up a total of 169 for 7 in their allocated 53 overs. Chasing 170 to win, captain Gareth Thomason (31) provided a solid start with valuable contributions coming in from middle order batsmen Longy brothers, Dave (24) & Stephen (32). Icing on the cake was provided by Rajan Popat (58*), who played a wonderful array of strokes and ensured MPBCC 1st XI reached the target in the stipulated overs. This has kept the MPBCC 1st XI in the hot pursuit to lead SHCL Division 5.
