MPBCC 1st XI

In the summer of 2001 MPBCC 1st XI entered Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League. The Division 11 Championship was secured in the first season and a second successive promotion was achieved in the following year. In 2005 1st XI secured the Division 9 Championship without losing a match, 2005 rapidly became one of the most successful season . Team had enjoyed on the pitch with the club coming runners up in the Watford Observer plate final. In the same year the 2nd XI and 3rd XI both achieved promotions. This success was recognised by the Saracens Herts League who awarded the club the prestigious Presidents Trophy as Hertfordshire Club of the Year.

The 1st XI followed up in 2006 by breaking all points scoring records in the Saracens League history by winning the Division 8 title with an unprecedented 100% record. This season also saw the introduction of colt’s cricket into the club. 2007 was another unbeaten season for the 1st XI as the Division 7 title became the 4th Championship and 5th promotion in only 7 years. 2008 ended with the 1st XI finishing Dvision 6 runners up. Since 2005 Gareth Thomason has been leading the charge of MPBCC 1st XI's advances and have had many a successes in his stride since then. Gareth is the highest run scorer in every season since 2001, he has continued to lead from the front as skipper. With 3 league titles and one runners-up spot already under his belt we hope that 2009 will see another successful season.
